Some quick updates in case anyone reads this stuff.

A lot of art on my profile has been deleted. Nothing from the past few months is gone, but a lot of older art has been removed. I know an artist "cleaning house" can be irritating to followers when something they like gets deleted, but much of what's been removed was pulling in pretty lousy traffic anyway. For a 3 year old account I've not had a particularly large amount of growth, and even though this is pretty much just a side project for me where I post my random drawings, I'd like to at least try to improve traffic around here.

I'm going to be working on improving my skills, so you might not see a new piece for a bit, who knows. Probably gonna be changing up my style.

Quality control is important to me, and so I won't be uploading much from here on out unless I'm really happy with it, which may lead to slower upload rates- but you'll be seeing better art. Hopefully we'll all benefit in some way from that.

As far as a road-map as to what you can (hopefully) expect, I'd like to release some original content one of these days, and, as far as fan art is concerned, the current plan is to focus my efforts into a fancomic I'll be revealing more about later if and when production actually gets underway.

Hopefully these changes will lead to a better account, fingers crossed.

Holy shit, has it really been 6 months since I posted something on here?

I'm kinda proud of myself!

Anyways, I'm not exactly expecting a massive response to this journal, because shit happens when you're gone for so long, but I figured I'd provide some updates for y'all!

First of all! I'm on Instagram at cin_derr_art. I do art on there, usually full on art but occasionally edited imagery that I turned into 'art!' (I promise, there's no shitty recolors of Sonic or Disney or whatever the hell on there. It's actual image edits with the intention of creating a coherent image, like Avengers stuff~)

So with the Instagram thing out there now, in case anyone's wondering how I am, I've been doing really well recently! Burying all the toxicity in my life really helped out. I've always considered myself one of the more 'normal' folks on the internet, that being that this was always just a side thing I did during downtime from my normal social life and IRL stuff. But hey, I drew Cuphead with hair kissing a horror game lead once, so...I guess I wasn't that normal. 

AAAAAAnyway, I guess that's really all. Ciao!

To anyone who's wondering where I've been:


I really don't know how I feel about continuing this account. It's not that I have any animosity towards any user here, but I just have other things that make me happier. I really don't feel a pull to come back here these days, and though I still draw, that artwork doesn't go up here since I'm never really logged in.

I believe in honesty, and so I think it's only right that I tell you guys this. I am not happy here on this site. I'm not struggling with depression, I'm plenty happy other places, but I am not happy with what I have done here. I don't associate with me 2 years ago who created this account. I really went overboard and burnt myself out, and I've spent most of my recent time away from here. 

I have plans for a very different fresh start somewhere else, and I don't think this platform is compatible with what I want to do. 

So what happens now?

I really don't know, just yet. I'm sorry to have to break this to you all, but it's only fair that each and every supporter I've gained thus far should be able to know this.

Venom is, surprisingly, a very enjoyable movie.

Before you pass this movie over because of the negative critical scores, do yourself a favor and take a look at Rotten Tomatoes. While the high-brow critical score is low, as most film critics only really bat an eye at Disney's 'MCU' Marvel movies (and an occasional X-Men film), the audience score- yes, people like me and (most likely) you, is a solid 86%.
That's only 5% lower than the massive 'Avengers: Infinity War', a huge success of a movie that you probably found at least bearable.

That score, an 86, is given to good movies, not 'tonal messes', as the critics have endlessly labeled the film.

The truth is, Venom is a tonal mess of a character. He doesn't always stick with serious or silly, light or dark. This movie isn't a spectacle to point your finger at in awe, like an 'Avengers' film.
It's a dark, comedic riff on the superhero genre.
Go ahead, laugh at the ridiculous action scenes. Laugh at the dialogue. Laugh at things that weren't even meant to be laughed at. I did. And I loved it. This isn't a mindless film, it's a comedic one that occasionally loses its voice, but retains its story and humor within those moments.

And then it's back on its feet again, with intense moments that are, like I said, totally okay to chuckle at. So when you watch Venom, if you decide to, remember what you're watching.
It's almost a parody that finds its heart in the interactions between Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom. If you think the movie is bad, view it as a bad spoof of a big-budget movie. It's surprisingly charming.

So go ahead, call Venom a mess of a movie. Doesn't mean you won't enjoy it.

Hey guys!

Just a heads up in case you didn't see it in my 'Snake Eyes' update that from July 1-14 I'm going to be away and probably without access to my computer. Sooooo like it or not I'll basically be on a 2-week hiatus. 

I will try to save something to my sta.sh to upload around July 7 if I have time to get on my phone or something to log into my account from where I'll be (5 hours away from my home so I can't just grab my computer) so hopefully you'll hear from me in some form during that 2-week time.

On the plus side I'm working full-speed to get the new Snake Eyes art done, I can tell you it's much more pleasing to the eye (especially to those damn dirty fangirls  ) 

I'm re-working the story too so it doesn't suck anymore so overall the end result should be something alot more interesting so yay
